Foreshortening of Linear Dimensions

You can foreshorten (or clip) linear dimensions in any type of drawing view.

Linear dimension

Foreshortened linear dimension using zigzag style

To foreshorten linear dimensions:

Right-click the side of the dimension to foreshorten and click Display Options > Foreshorten.

To set a document-level default for the foreshortened style, with a drawing open, click Tools > Options > Document Properties > Dimensions > Linear and under Foreshortened, select a style.
