Saving SOLIDWORKS Documents to eDrawings

To save a SOLIDWORKS document as an eDrawings file:

  1. In a SOLIDWORKS document, click File > Save As.
  2. In the dialog box, select one of the following for Save as type:
    • eDrawings (*.eprt). Part documents.
    • eDrawings (*.easm). Assembly documents.
    • eDrawings (*.edrw). Drawing documents.
    SOLIDWORKS displays the correct eDrawings file type based on the SOLIDWORKS document type.
  3. For eDrawings Professional, to add password protection to the eDrawings document, click Password.
  4. To specify eDrawings export options, click Options.
  5. Click Save.
