Running Check Active Document

To run Check Active Document:

  1. In the SOLIDWORKS window, click Check Active Document (Design Checker flyout , Tools toolbar) or Tools > Design Checker > Check Active Document .
A Design Checker tab opens in the Task Pane.
  2. In the Design Checker task pane, you can do one of the following:
    • Select one or multiple drafting standards from the list of built-in standard files.
    • Click Add Standards , browse for .swstd files, and select standard files to add.
Click Remove Standards to clear standard files, or Move Up , Move Down to reorganize them.
    • Click Select File, to open an existing file to compare to the active document.
  3. Click Check Document to check the active document and display the results.
An alert appears if duplicate checks are found in multiple .swstd files. Design Checker uses the last occurrence of the check.
Design Checker evaluates the document based on the selected standard file .swstd.

Depending on the passed and failed checks, the results that appear in the Design Checker Task Pane are:

    • A message that your document is as per standard.
    • A list of failed checks organized by criticality level.
