Metallic Paint

The Metallic Paint Appearance Type simulates metallic paints such as car paints, but can also be used to simulate multilayer plastic finishes.

Parameters

Face Color Sets the primary base color of the paint in diffuse white light.
Flop Color Sets a second color into the appearance.
Travel Sets the balance between Face Color and Flop Color. More Travel means more Face Color and less Flop Color.
Flake Color Sets the color of the metallic flake in diffuse white light.
Flake Roughness Sets the roughness of the metallic flakes.
Flake Coverage Sets the density of the metallic flakes.
Clearcoat Gives the paint a shiny, wet look typical of a clearcoat on top of the metallic paint.
Clearcoat Tint Adds a transparent color on top of Face Color, Flop Color, and Flake Color.
Clearcoat Roughness Determines how much the clearcoat diffuses specular highlights. A value of zero causes no diffusion, which makes the clearcoat appear smooth and shiny.
Physical Flakes Gives the metallic flakes in the paint a physical size.
Flake Size Sets the size of the Physical Flakes.
Flake Angle Sets the angle of the Physical Flakes.
