Mapping AutoCAD Attributes

Add attributes to the AutoCAD map list. Access this dialog box by clicking Add New in the AutoCAD Property Mappings.

To specify AutoCAD attribute mappings:

  1. Under Name of the AutoCAD Block that contains attributes, type a block name (the name of the block insertions in the SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM managed documents), or click Load from File and specify a file name.
  2. Under AutoCAD Attribute, type a name or select from the list on each row that you want to map. You are not required to map every property.
  3. Click OK to accept the mappings and return to Property Mappings.

If you click Load from File and specify a file name:

  • If a file contains blocks, the block names are listed.
  • If a file contains attribute definitions, the drawing name is listed.
