Creating Smart Components

Open the training assembly to define the Smart Component.

Click here to open pillow_block.sldasm, (or browse to drive letter:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS version\tutorial\smartcomponents\pillow_block.sldasm).
The training assembly is shown in an exploded view to facilitate component selection.
Click Make Smart Component (Assembly toolbar).
Select the bearing for Smart Component .
The bearing (the component that you are making smart) is highlighted.
Select the cap screws, lock washers, and flat washers for Components .
The cap screws, lock washers, and flat washers are components you want to associate with the bearing selected in step 3.
