Creating Conditions for Workflows

You can create conditions to control how SOLIDWORKS PDM assigns files and items to workflows.

To create conditions for workflows:

  1. Expand Workflows, then right-click a workflow and select Properties.
  2. Under Conditions, click New .
  3. Under Type, click Click here to change, select a condition type, and provide additional input as required by the type.
  4. Optionally add more conditions.

    By default, conditions are AND conditions, meaning all conditions must be true for the file or item to enter the initial state of the workflow. You can also define OR conditions, meaning at least one condition must be true.

  5. To define OR conditions:
    1. Click Or to create an OR container.
    2. Drag two or more conditions into the OR container.
  6. When you are done adding conditions or otherwise editing the category or workflow, click OK.
