For assemblies, you can specify components to remove from the model. For multibody parts, you can specify bodies to remove from the model.
To open the Components or Bodies page of the Defeature PropertyManager, do one of the following:
- In an assembly, click Defeature (Tools toolbar) or .
The PropertyManager opens to the Components page.
- In a multibody part, click Defeature (Tools toolbar) or .
The PropertyManager opens to the Bodies page.
This screen is also used by the Export to AEC wizard. To display it in this context:
- Open the Export to AEC wizard by clicking .
- Complete the fields on the Export to AEC - Type and Orientation screen and click Next .
- On the Export to AEC - Specify Export Details screen, for Set Target Model Details, select Custom, then click Next .
Remove
Provides methods for specifying which components or bodies to remove.
Internal components / Internal bodies |
Removes all components or bodies
not visible from outside the model. |
Small
components (percent of assembly size) / Small bodies (percent of part
size) |
Removes all components or bodies,
both external and internal, that are smaller than a specified
percentage of the size of the model's bounding box. Enter a number
in Percent. |

Removes components or bodies that
you select in the graphics area or FeatureManager design tree.
