Copying Exploded Views

You can copy exploded views from the active configuration to other configurations.

  • Each exploded view in the assembly must have a unique name.
  • The source configuration must be active in order to copy its exploded views.
  • You can access the copy of the exploded view only after you activate the target configuration.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts to Copy Exploded Views

You can use Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy exploded views from the active configuration and paste them into other configurations.

To copy exploded views:

  1. In the ConfigurationManager , under the active configuration, select one or more ExplView features.
  2. Press Ctrl + C.
  3. Single-click the target configuration to select it without activating it. (The source configuration must remain active.)
  4. Press Ctrl + V.
    The copied views are not listed until you activate the target configuration.
  5. Double-click the target configuration to activate it, and click EXPAND.gif to expand it.
    The copied views are listed.

Using Drag and Drop to Copy Exploded Views

You can copy exploded views by dragging them from the active configuration and dropping them into another configuration.

To copy exploded views:

  1. In the ConfigurationManager , under the active configuration, select one or more ExplView features.
  2. Drag the views to the target configuration.
  3. When the pointer changes to pointer_copy.gif, drop the views.
    The copied views are not listed until you activate the target configuration.
  4. Double-click the target configuration to activate it, and click EXPAND.gif to expand it.
    The copied views are listed.
