The 3DEXPERIENCE Connection for SOLIDWORKS on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform consists of three apps: SOLIDWORKS® Connection, eDrawings® Connection, and DraftSight® Connection.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform provides a secure, flexible collaborative environment for design teams, customers, suppliers, and project stakeholders to develop new products. It offers transparent data management in the cloud and community-based social innovation to enable teams to communicate, exchange ideas, and collaborate on designs.
The user experience is consistent across the apps. Users can save, manage, and share files online in Collaborative Spaces on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Users can search for files in Collaborative Spaces, download and work on the files on their computer, and then save new versions back to the cloud. Users can lock files to ensure that nobody else modifies the same files at the same time. The 3DEXPERIENCE Connection apps help users keep track of file status so they know if the latest version resides on their computer or in the cloud.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Connection for SOLIDWORKS on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform also provides access to the 3DSwym communities where users can securely connect, share information and participate in the design process. Users can create blog posts and wiki pages, exchange images and videos, and connect with design experts.
