Defining a Convection Boundary Condition To define a convection boundary condition: Do one of the following: In the Simulation study tree, right-click Thermal Loads and select Convection . Click Simulation > Loads/Fixture > Convection. Click Convection (Simulation toolbar). The Convection PropertyManager appears. In the graphics area, select the faces for which the convection boundary condition is to be defined. The selected faces appear in the Faces for Convection box . To select all faces exposed to outside at once, click Select all exposed faces. To delete a face later, right-click the face and select Delete. Select the unit system you want to use to enter the values of the Convection Coefficient and the Bulk Temperature. Under Convection Coefficient, do the following: Enter a value for the Convection Coefficient . Click Use Time Curve and then click Edit to define or import a time curve and associate the convection coefficient with it. Click Use Temperature Curve and then click Edit to define or import a temperature curve and associate the convection coefficient with it. Under Bulk Ambient Temperature, do the following: Enter a value for the Bulk Ambient Temperature . Click Use Time Curve and then click Edit to associate the bulk temperature with a time curve.
