Importing a 3D Model

You import a 3D model (also referred to as an object or mesh) to serve as a 3D subject in a project.

To import a 3D model:

  1. Click Project > Models > Import Model.
  2. In the Import dialog box, browse to a model and click Open.
  3. In the Import Settings dialog box, accept the default settings and click OK.
Depending on the size of the file and your computer hardware, it may take a few seconds for the model to load.
After the model loads in the scene, the project appears in realtime.
Using the SOLIDWORKS Visualize add-in, you can export models from SOLIDWORKS and load them into SOLIDWORKS Visualize. With SOLIDWORKS Professional, you can also export Motion Studies. For more information, see the SOLIDWORKS Help.
