Inserting a Part with a Specific Configuration

The Insert Part tool lets you insert a specific configuration of the part. This workflow is the same as when you insert a component into an assembly.

To specify a configuration when inserting a part:

  1. In any part, click Insert Part (Features toolbar) or Insert > Part .
  2. In the Open dialog box:
    1. Select the file to insert.
    2. Select a configuration of the base part.
    3. Click Open.
  3. In the Insert Part PropertyManager, under Part to Insert, click Browse to select another part.

Click to pin the PropertyManager to insert multiple parts without reopening the PropertyManager.

When you edit a part, the Edit Feature PropertyManager displays the file path and configurations of the part.
