-AreaBoundary

Use the -AreaBoundary command to create a PolyLine or a Region from an enclosed area.

It is the command window variant of the AreaBoundary command.

To create area boundaries:

  1. Type -AreaBoundary at the command prompt.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • In the graphics area, specify an internal point.

You need at least one point inside a closed area to create a boundary entity. To create other boundary entities, specify additional internal points.

    • Specify an option:
      • Boundary settings.
        • Boundary type. Specify the resulting entity type for the boundary:

          • Everything. Establishes the boundary set from everything currently visible in the drawing window.
          • Specify entities. In the graphics area, specify entities and press Enter.
        • Internal regions. Detects internal closed areas that are completely within the boundary area:
          • Yes. Finds internal regions.
          • No. Ignores internal regions.
      • Press Enter to exit specifying options.
  3. Repeat step 2 as needed.
