Types of Data Card

File Cards

Link to one or more file types within the vault, storing data that is specific to a file in the vault database.

When a user selects a .doc or .docx file in Windows File Explorer, the Data Card tab displays the file card linked to the .doc or .docx extension.

Folder Cards

Link to a file or item folder within the vault, storing data that is specific to a folder (and subfolders) in the vault database.

Link to an item in the vault database.

Search Cards

Enable custom searches when displayed in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Search tool or when users access SOLIDWORKS PDM search within a Windows File Explorer dialog box.
