Adding an Archive Server To create a vault, you must be able to connect to an archive server. You can add an archive server if it is installed but is not visible in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration tool. To add an archive server: Start the Administration tool by doing one of the following: On Windows 7, from the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > SOLIDWORKS PDM > Administration. On Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 or later, from the Windows Start menu, select SOLIDWORKS PDM > Administration. Select File > Add Server. In the Add Server dialog box, for Server name, do one of the following: From the list, select the server. If the server is not listed (for example, if it is located on another network), enter the system name or IP address. The archive server name might not appear if a firewall is blocking port 3030. Click OK.The server appears in the left pane. Log in to the archive server as a Windows user with attach access.
