Creating a Linear Pattern of a Structure System Feature

  1. Open system_dir:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS 2020\samples\whatsnew\structure_system\shed.SLDPRT.

  2. Click Insert > Pattern/Mirror > Linear Pattern.
  3. In the PropertyManager, for Direction 1:
    1. For Pattern Direction , select the edge shown in the graphics area.

    2. Select Up to reference.
    3. Click in Reference Geometry , and in the graphics area, rotate the model and select the face shown.

    4. For Spacing , enter 10mm.
    5. Click Number of Instances and enter 6.

  5. In the PropertyManager, click Bodies and click in Structure System to Pattern .
  6. In the flyout FeatureManager design tree, click Structure System1.
  7. Click .

The model adds six instances of the frame.
