A route point is a point in a fitting (flange, elbow, electrical connector, and so on) that is used to position the fitting at an intersection or endpoint in the 3D sketch.
In a fitting with multiple ports (such as a tee or cross), you must create a sketch point at the intersection of the axes of the fitting before adding a route point.
To add a route point:
- Click Create Route Point (Routing Tools toolbar) or .
- Under Selections in the PropertyManager, for Select sketch point or vertex :
- For rigid pipe and tube fittings, select a sketch point in the graphics area
- In a fitting with multiple ports, select the sketch point at the intersection of the axes.
- For flexible tubes fittings or electrical cable connectors, select a sketch point and a planar face in the graphics area.
- In a flange, select a point that is concentric with the cylindrical faces of the part. If the flange mates with another flange, select a point on the mating face.
-
Find or create a sketch point to use for positioning the fitting at an intersection or end point of the route, or at a split point on the route.
- Click .
Repeat this process for fittings that support multiple route points, and for assemblies that need assembly route points (ARPoint).
