Filters Workshop

The Filters workshop lets you locate geometry and collaborative actors based on their properties.

To display this workshop, click Workshops > Properties > Filters .

Note: You cannot use the Text pane to specify string property values. You can embed property values by typing property keywords or by copying keywords generated by the Text pane.

Tips: To find actors according to:

  • their type ( measurements, labels, geometry, and so on): use the ClassName property with string operators.
  • their netGUID (or GUID): use the NetGUID property with string operators and regular expression.

Filters are saved as profiles. For details, see Profiles.

Filtering Commands

The following table describes the filtering commands available in the Filters workshop.

Icon Command Name Description
N/A Filter Defines the filter scope:
  • Selection - Filters the Current selection, or a predefined selection set or hotspot.
  • Visible actors
  • All actors
Select Matching Actors Selects matching actors in the current view.
Show Matching Actors Shows matching actors only.
Show Matching Actors and Ghost Others Shows matching actors and displays all other actors in ghost mode.
Sort by Category Sorts properties by category.
Sort Alphabetically Sorts properties alphabetically.
Show Filter Properties Only Shows only properties defined in the current filter.
Show Filter and Selection Properties Shows all properties from the current filter and the current selection.
Show All Properties Shows all properties available through filters.
Intersection Operator Enables intersection matching mode (AND operator). Actors must match all of the specified filter properties.
Union Operator Enables union matching mode (OR operator). Actors can match any of the specified filter properties.
Duplicate Selected Operators Duplicates the selected operator to add filtering criteria on the same property. For example, to search for actors with either of 2 colors, select the Color [Actor] property and click Duplicate Selected Operators. You now have 2 Color [Actor] properties you can set.
Case Sensitive Mode Distinguishes between uppercase (capital) and lowercase letters.

Note: This mode is a user setting and is not stored in filter profiles. To include case-sensitive expressions in filter profiles, use the ≡ and

operators.

is used Valid for any property type. It checks that the property is available for an actor, for example, to find all the actors containing certain meta-properties. n/a
