Generating Configuration Data

You can generate full data sets for one or more configurations without activating each configuration individually.

To generate full data sets, do one of the following:

  • In the ConfigurationManager, right-click one or more configurations and click Add Rebuild on Save Mark.
  • At the top of the ConfigurationManager or FeatureManager design tree, right-click the model name, click Rebuild on Save Mark, and click one of the following options:
    Option Description
    Add Mark for This Configuration Marks the active configuration to generate the full data set the next time you save the document. Then, the data rebuilds and saves every time you save the document.
    Add Mark for All Configurations Marks all configurations to generate full data sets the next time you save the document. Then, the data rebuilds and saves every time you save the document.
    Add Mark for Specified Configurations Opens the Rebuild and Save Settings dialog box, where you mark configurations to generate full data sets the next time you save the document. Then, the data rebuilds and saves every time you save the document.

    Removes the Rebuild on Save mark from all other configurations. If the Display Data mark is not selected, the icons change to or depending on the current state of their configuration data.

    Add Mark for SpeedPak Configurations Opens the Rebuild and Save Settings dialog box, where you mark SpeedPak configurations to generate full data sets the next time you save the document. Then, the data rebuilds and saves every time you save the document.

    The Rebuild on Save mark appears next to the selected configurations. If the Display Data mark is not selected, the cleared configurations have the or icons depending on the current state of their configuration data.

    Remove Mark and Purge Data for All Configurations Removes the Rebuild on Save mark from all configurations including the active configuration, and purges the data for all configurations except the active one.

    When you open the model in Service Pack 5 of the previous release of SOLIDWORKS:

    • Configurations marked with the Rebuild on Save mark are available.
    • Configurations without the mark are not available.
