You can save files as eDrawings ActiveX files, then view them in a browser.
eDrawings ActiveX files can be viewed in Internet Explorer 11 and
higher only.
You must have the eDrawings Viewer
installed to view an eDrawings ActiveX file. If you do not have the eDrawings Viewer
installed, it is automatically downloaded and installed when you open the eDrawings
ActiveX file. In some cases, you may be prompted to reboot if any of the files required
for installation are in use.
When saving an eDrawings file as
.htm:
- You may need to change Internet Explorer (IE) settings for the
eDrawings ActiveX control to properly load. For help on setting ActiveX controls
in IE, see the Microsoft online help.
- You may need to select Enable 64-bit processes
for Enhanced Protected Mode in IE options. You must reboot your
system after selecting this option.
When you open the eDrawings ActiveX files in a browser, you can access certain
eDrawings functionality.
To save files as eDrawings ActiveX files:
- Click .
- Set Save as type to eDrawings HTML Files (*.htm).
- Select from the export options.
- Type the File name, then click Save.
Models
For models saved as eDrawings ActiveX files, you can:
- Use most of the tools in the eDrawings Viewer.
- Highlight features.
- Right-click and do the following:
- Select
- Under View:
- Zoom, rotate, pan.
- Click Home to return the model to its last saved
state.
- Select or clear All Annotations, Shaded, or Show
Edges When Shaded.
- For drawings, select or clear Create Layout or 3D Pointer.
- Select Animate
Views, and select an animation option.
Drawings
For drawings that you save as eDrawings ActiveX files, you can do the following:
- Use most of the tools displayed in eDrawings.
- Highlight drawing views.
- Use hyperlinking of section lines and detail circles.
- Right-click, select View, and zoom, pan, select, and enable or disable the
Create Layout, 3D Pointer, and Shaded tools.
- Right-click, select Animate
Views, and select an animation option.
