Importing Using the Import Option

The Import option on the vault right-click menu lets you import vault settings that are stored in .cex files.

1. Right-click the vault into which you want to import settings and select Import.
2. In the Open dialog box, use the Look in field to navigate to the location of the settings to import.
   Default settings are located in the <install_dir>\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS PDM\Default Data directory.
3. Select the settings to import and click Open.
4. If a message box warns you that an object you are importing already exists in the vault:
   • Click Yes to overwrite the existing object with the settings in the imported object.
   • Click Yes to All to overwrite any existing object with a corresponding new object.
   • Click No to retain the original settings of the object.
   • Click No to All to retain the settings for all objects that already exist in the vault.
5. When a message confirms the completion of the import, click OK.
