Dimension Command Mode

The Dim command switches from normal command mode to a specific dimension command mode at the command window to execute dimensioning commands in a series. The command prompt changes from ":" to "Dim»".

To turn on dimension command mode:

  • Type Dim at the command prompt.

    When you turn on dimension command mode, you can use abbreviated command names. The table below shows the dimension mode command names and their equivalents in normal command mode.

To turn off dimension command mode:

  • Press Esc (or type Exit).

    When you exit dimension command mode, the Undo command reverses the effects of the entire dimensioning process back to the state when you entered dimension command mode.

To execute one dimension command and return to normal command mode:

  • Type Dim1 at the command prompt.
