Setting the Insertion Base Point for the Drawing

Use the InsertBase command to determine the insertion base point for the drawing.

The point is used when you insert the current drawing into a drawing or attach it as externally referenced drawing (Reference).

The default insertion base point for a new drawing is the origin of the current coordinate system (0,0,0).

To set the insertion base point for the drawing:

  1. Type InsertBase at the command prompt.
  2. In the graphics area, specify a point.

Note: Use the InsertBlock command to insert drawings and the AttachDrawing to attach drawings as References to the drawing.
