Treehouse View in the Contains and Where Used Tabs (For SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional Only)

You can use the Treehouse view in the Contains and Where Used tabs to see the references of the selected file. It displays parent-child relationships in a graphical tree format.

Toolbar

Version The file version for which references are displayed.

The default is the most recent version.

Expand the control to select a different file version.

indicates a revision.

indicates the original version.

Configuration The configuration for which references are displayed.

The default is the active configuration.

Expand the control to select the configuration for which to list references.

If you select Do not show configurations, all files referenced by any configuration are displayed.

Levels Displays file references for the entire file hierarchy (Show All Levels) or only the top level of the file hierarchy (Top Level Only).

The option is set to the most recently used option.

You can expand or collapse the hierarchy by using the and controls in the File name column.

Referencing Version
Available only in the Where Used tab
Displays the latest attached version of parent files or all referencing versions of parent files.
Export Lists all the files of the tree structure in Microsoft Excel.
If you do not have Microsoft Excel installed, the list is exported as a <filepath>.csv file.
Export with thumbnails Lists all the files along with thumbnails in Microsoft Excel.
Print > Print All Prints the complete tree structure.
Print > Print Display to print a specific part of an extent. Prints the part of the extents that are displayed. Use Zoom to Area
Print > Print Preview Shows a preview of the current print selection. The preview is based on the paper size, scale, and orientation.
Table view Displays files with their references in a tabular format.
Treehouse view Prints the part of the extentsDisplays files with their references in a hierarchical tree format.

Treehouse Tools

Zoom to Area Zooms to the selected area.
Zoom to Fit Zooms in or out so that you can see the entire tree hierarchy.
Visibility > File name extension Displays the file name along with the extension.
Visibility > File type icon Displays the file icon in the nodes.
Visibility > Thumbnail preview Displays the file thumbnail in the nodes.
Node Style > Portrait Displays the tree structure in portrait mode.
Node Style > Landscape Displays the tree structure in landscape mode.
Node Style > Compact Displays only the file name, icon, and thumbnail in the nodes.
Group children
Available only in the Contains tab
Groups child nodes of a parent. Only the child nodes that are leaf nodes and do not have other external references are grouped together.

If a child reference is also a parent, it is not grouped. For example, assemblies are not grouped.



Drawer
Available only in the Contains tab
Displays drawing nodes within the referenced part or assembly nodes. To show or hide the drawing node, click on the referenced part or assembly node.

Nodes

Each part, assembly, and drawing is represented by a node in the tree. It displays information such as the file name, number of instances, and configuration name. To see these details, hover over the node.

Other User Interface Elements

1 Expands or collapses child components. Shift + click to expand or collapse all child components, including subassemblies.
