Creating File Notifications

You create file notifications in the File Notifications dialog box.

  1. To open the File Notification dialog box, right-click one or more files and do one of the following:
    • Click Notify > Me when.

      The File Notification dialog box opens immediately.

    • Click Notify > My Notifications.

      The Notification Editor appears, showing your existing notifications.

      Click Add File Notification.

      In the Browse For File(s) dialog box, navigate to the location of the files for which you want to create notifications. Select the files and click Open.

    In the File Notification dialog box, the files you selected appear in the File field.
  2. Expand the Type list and select the type of notification to create.
    The Notification Properties tab displays the controls that are appropriate to the notification type and an informational message describing the notification's effect.
  3. Make selections using the controls on the tab.
  4. Click OK.
    The Notification Editor appears, listing a separate notification for each of the files you selected.
  5. Click OK.
