Grid Properties Tab

In the Grid Properties tab in the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager, you can specify options for grid display in drawings.

To access the Grid Properties tab, click Grid (Document ribbon).

General

AutoFit grid to the entire document Applies the grid evenly across the drawing.
Adjust grid size manually and evenly distribute columns and rows Lets you adjust the size and drag the grid to a specific area of the drawing. Columns and rows are spaced evenly in the grid.
Adjust column width manually Lets you adjust the column width and drag the grid to a specific area of the drawing.
Adjust row height manually Lets you adjust the row height and drag the grid to a specific area of the drawing.
Adjust both column width and row height manually Lets you adjust the column width and row height, and drag the grid to a specific area of the drawing.
  Specifies the minor gridline color. Click to display minor gridlines.
  Specifies the grid label color. Click to display grid labels. You can also specify the font and font size.
  Display the grid as dashed lines Displays the major and minor gridlines as solid or dashed.
  Apply To Specifies the sheets to which the grid applies.
  On/Off Applies the options in General, Columns, and Rows to the specified sheet.

Columns and Rows

  How many? Specifies the number of columns or rows in the grid.
  Starting Value Specifies the starting letter of the column or row labels.
  Sorts the columns or rows from A to Z.
  Sorts the columns or rows from Z to A.
  Sorts the columns or rows in ascending order.
  Sorts the columns or rows in descending order.
  Exclude Excludes specified letters or numbers from column or row labels.

For example, you can exclude the letter I because it looks similar to the number 1.
