Extracting Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances

You can extract geometric dimensions & tolerances (GDT) manually and use the GDT builder to designate additional information.

To extract GDT:

  1. In a drawing, click Geometric Tolerances (Document ribbon).
  2. In the graphics area, box-select a GDT.
    A balloon appears next to the extracted annotation, the image appears at the top of the Characteristic tab in the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager, and the OCR attempts to fill the correct values in the Characteristic tab.
  3. On the Characteristic tab, under General:
    1. Use the GDT Builder to enter content for the feature control frame.
    2. Enter values for the remaining data in the annotation.
  4. In the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager, under Inspection, Ballooning, and Custom, enter values for the remaining data in the annotation.
