Configuration - Based Studies

When you create a study, the software associates it with the active configuration. The configuration name appears next to the study name in the Simulation study tree. At any time, you can only access the studies that are associated with the active configuration. Other studies are grayed out when you click their Simulation study tabs.

Associating a Study with a Configuration

When you create a study, the software associates it with the active configuration. The configuration name appears next to the study name in the Simulation study tree. At any time, you can only access the studies that are associated with the active configuration. Other studies are grayed out when you click their Simulation study tabs.

To associate a study with a configuration:

  1. Click the ConfigurationManager tab fm_configuration_tab.png.
  2. Create a new configuration or activate an existing one.
  3. Create a new study.
The new study is associated with the active configuration. The name of the configuration associated with the study appears (in parentheses) next to the study name in the Simulation study tree.
You cannot change the configuration of a study. However, you can copy (duplicate) an existing study to a new one with a different configuration.

Activating a Configuration Associated with a Study

To activate a configuration associated with a study:

  1. Click the desired Simulation study tab.
  2. In the Simulation study tree, right-click the study icon and select Activate SW configuration.
    The study and the associated configuration become active.
