If SOLIDWORKS cannot identify a piece of equipment or a piping system component from a P&ID file, the Select Component dialog box appears when you start to insert the component from the Piping and Instrumentation tab of the Task Pane. Use the Select Component dialog box to select the missing component from the piping and tubing database or from the routing component library.
To insert components from a P&ID file, import the P&ID file and click Insert All Components or Process Pipe on the Piping and Instrumentation tab.
To access the
Piping and Instrumentation tab:
- Create and save a new assembly without closing it, or open an existing assembly.
- From the Task Pane, select the Piping and Instrumentation
tab.
