Export to AEC - Step 1: Components

The Components screen of the Export to AEC wizard lets you manually specify components to remove from the model you are exporting.

To display the Step 1: Components screen of the Export to AEC wizard:

  1. Click Tools > Export to AEC.
  2. Complete the Type and Orientation screen and click .
  3. On the Specify Export Details screen, for Set Target Model Details, select Custom and click .

Remove

Provides methods for specifying which components or bodies to remove.

Internal components Removes all components not visible from outside the model.
Small components (percent of assembly size) Removes all components, both external and internal, that are smaller than a specified percentage of the size of the model's bounding box. Enter a number in Percent.
Selected components Removes components that you select in the graphics area or FeatureManager design tree. Selected items are listed in Components to Remove / Bodies to Remove .
Display Controls the display of items while on this page of the PropertyManager. Select one of the following:

Show all

Shows all items.

Hide removed components / bodies

Hides items to be removed. Shows items to be retained.

Hide others

Shows items to be removed. Hides items to be retained.

Transparent others

Shows items to be removed. Displays transparently items to be retained.

When you click Next , the display reverts to Hide removed components / Hide removed bodies.

Exceptions

Manually select components to retain that are removed based on the options above.

Components to Retain Retains components that you select in the graphics area or FeatureManager design tree.

Section View

Select internal components.

  Reference Section Plane/Face Specifies the plane or face to use to section the model. Select a plane or face, or click Front , Top , or Right to create the section view. Reverse Section Direction changes the direction of the cut.
Offset Distance Offsets the section from the reference plane by a specified distance.
X Rotation Rotates the section plane along the X-axis.
Y Rotation Rotates the section plane along the Y-axis.
