Appearances Pane

The Appearances pane of the DisplayManager lists the appearances applied to the current model.

To display this pane:

On the DisplayManager click View Appearances .

Sort order

From Sort order, select the order to list the appearances in:

History

Appearances appear in the order they were added to the model, with the most recently applied appearance listed last. The references the appearances are applied to are listed as subnodes under each appearance.

Alphabetical

Appearances are listed in alphabetical order. The references the appearances are applied to are listed as subnodes under each appearance.

Hierarchy

The appearance hierarchy is listed (for example, for parts, the hierarchy appears in this order: faces, features, bodies, part). Appearances are listed alphabetically as subnodes of each element of the appearance hierarchy. The references the appearances are applied to are listed as subnodes under each appearance.

Appearance Context Menu

When you right-click an appearance in the DisplayManager, options are as follows:

  Add Appearance Applies an appearance to the selected reference, or if none, to the entire entity. Opens the Appearance PropertyManager.
Edit Appearance Edits the appearance in the Appearances PropertyManager. When you edit an appearance assigned to a group of entities, the appearance updates for all entities.
Copy Appearance Copies the appearance so you can paste it onto another entity.
  Remove Appearance Removes the appearance from its references.
  Attach to Selection Applies the appearance to a selected reference. In the graphics area, select a face, feature, body, or part. In the DisplayManager, right-click the appearance to apply, and then select this option.
  Consolidate Appearance Appearances at lower level are consolidated to higher level. Transfers the appearance from the face level to the body level when all the faces of a body of the part are applied with an identical appearance. Transfers the appearance from body level to part level and part level to assembly level when there are identical appearances.
  Expand Item Expand one node in the Appearances pane.
  Expand All Expands all nodes in the Appearances pane.
  Collapse Item Collapses all subnodes under this item.
  Collapse All Collapses all nodes in the Appearances pane.
  Display States Target Allows you to define display states to use different instances of decals and scenes.
