Gathers all related files for a model design (parts, assemblies, drawings, references, design tables, Design Binder content, decals, appearances, and scenes, and SOLIDWORKS Simulation results) into a folder or zip file.
To access Pack and Go:
- In SOLIDWORKS, click .
- In File Explorer
on Windows 10
or SOLIDWORKS Task Pane File
Explorer, right-click a SOLIDWORKS document and click
.
- In File Explorer on Windows 11, right-click the SOLIDWORKS file and
click .
Files that are embedded (Design Journal, for example) are part of the document and are included without being listed in the Pack and Go dialog box.
When you open Pack and Go from
File
Explorer,
the document and its references are listed. When you open it from within the SOLIDWORKS
application, it includes the following file types:
- Drawings in user-specified folders

Parent parts of derived and mirrored parts

Linked documents in the Design Binder folder

Linked design table documents
-
Custom and default decals, appearances, and scenes

SOLIDWORKS Simulation results documents
In the
Pack and Go dialog box, choose to save to a folder or zip file.
- If a specified folder does not exist, it creates the folder.
- If you choose to email a zip file, an email message with the zip file attached
opens for you to address and send.
