You can animate a selected item (entire models, individual parts, groups of models or parts, appearances, lights, and cameras).

Use the Selection Tool to select an item to animate.
- Do one of the following:
- Right-click the selection and click .
- For rotation animations, click .
A new animation appears in the animation list, with the state of the selected item recorded in the first keyframe.
- In the Animation timeline, do the following:
- Set the maximum potential end time by dragging the red flag (end time) to the desired end time.
- Drag the yellow flag (current time) to the desired time of the next keyframe.
- Use the Object Manipulation Tools to transform the selection for the next keyframe.
- Do one of the following to add the next keyframe:
- In the animation list, click Create Keyframe at Current Time .
- Right-click in the 3D Viewport and click .
- Repeat steps 3b through 6 to add additional keyframes to the animation.
- Use the basic animation controls on the left side of the timeline to evaluate and play the animation.
