Cut

The Cut command allows you to place the selected elements in the SOLIDWORKS Electrical clipboard. It is used to move several types of elements and it is available at various places of the software.

The elements on the clipboard can be inserted or created by the Paste or Paste special commands.

Graphical area

 

Menu: Edit > Cut

Contextual menu of graphical elements: Cut

 

1.     Click the command.

2.     Select the entities in the graphical area.

3.     Validate the selection.

The elements are highlighted and they can be inserted in the same or another drawing from the Paste or Paste special commands. At the insertion (Paste command) the original elements are deleted.

Management dialog boxes

 

Management dialog boxes > Cut

 

1.     Select the elements you want to cut.

2.     Click the command.

The original elements are kept and they can be pasted to another class. At the creation of the new elements, the original elements are removed.

Electrical project pages

 

Contextual menu of electrical project, book, folder or drawings: Cut

 

1.     Select the elements you want to cut.

2.     In the contextual menu, click the command.

The original elements are kept and they can be pasted to a consistent place (for example, a book cannot be pasted in a folder). At the creation of the new elements, the original elements are removed.
