Manage cabling order
The cabling order can be performed globally across the electrical project
or on a single wire.

Menu: Electrical project
> Wire cabling order (handles
all wires in the electrical project)
Dockable panel > Contextual menu of the electrical project:

Wire cabling order management (handles
all wires in the electrical project)
Contextual menu of a wire: Wire
cabling order (handles
only selected wires)
Terminal strip editor: Wire
cabling order (handles
only selected wires) |
The left part of the dialog shows the list of the complex equipotentials.
The upper half shows the various symbols connected to the wire.
The lower part shows the from/to results of the wiring order.
The wiring order also lets you manage cabling cores (see the Cabling section).
Equipotentials
Automatically add
wires for all: Manages the cabling order across all of the complex
equipotentials. The order of components that are connected will depend
on their mark (alphanumeric sort). The cabling order which this operation
generates is referred to as Automatic
cabling order.
Delete wires for all: Lets you
delete the wiring order for the whole project.
Automatically add
wires for selection: Has the same behavior than the Automatically
add wires for all feature but only on the selected equipotentials.
Delete wire for selection: Has
the same behavior as the Delete wires
for all feature but only on the selected equipotentials.
If this command is launched from the wire contextual menu, only the
selected equipotential appears on the list. If it was launched from the
Electrical project menu, select
the equipotentials you want to adjust from the list on the left.
Components connected on equipotential
The cabling order generated by the following commands is referred to
as Manual cabling order.
Add wire From point: Select
a mark in the list and click on the Add
wire From point button. The mark is automatically added to the
Origin column.
Replace origin with point: Changes
the origin.
Add wire To point: Select
a mark in the list and click on the Add
wire To point button. The mark is automatically added to the Destination column.
Replace destination with point:
Changes the destination.
A Go to command is available
in the contextual menu of a component to open the drawing in which the
symbol is inserted. You can also double-click the component.
You can also drag and drop marks from the origin to the destination
(and vice versa), or drag and drop marks from the upper left into either
the origin or destination on any of the connections.
Equipotential wires
The length of the wire can be entered
in the Length column. It is also
filled in by the wire routing created using SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D.
The Automatically add wires
button lets you generate the wiring order automatically on a complex wire.
The Delete wires button lets
you erase the selected connection lines.
The Switch origin and destination
button lets you reverse the origin and destination component marks.
The Associate cable cores and
Dissociate cable
cores buttons affect the cabling.
