Edit 2D footprint graphics

A 2D footprint in the library consists of two parts: a graphical representation and a set of technical parameters stored in the database. The 2D footprint must be edited using the 2D footprint management, if not they cannot be managed by the software.

 

The 2D footprints also have attributes (text) allowing certain data stored in the database to be propagated across the scheme.

 

2D footprint management: Open

 

Opens the selected 2D footprint in a graphical interface. If you do not activate the Keep the dialog opened option, the management dialog box closes. If not, you can close it manually or resize it.

 

The ribbon menu changes when the editor opens. It has an Edit symbol menu.

 

The dockable panel changes, displaying the symbol properties.

 

The following steps are required to manage the symbol in SOLIDWORKS Electrical:

When you close a file, you are asked to save it.

 

The file can be open in DraftSight to edit the graphics.
