Revisions

Only books, cover pages, and drawings are assigned revision numbers. Revision numbers are managed individually, rather than on a project level. Revision numbers are formatted according to the electrical project configuration parameters.

You can set the revision index during drawing creation.

Contextual menu of a book: Revisions

Contextual menu of a drawing: Revisions

An option dialog box opens asking you if you want to update the report and terminal strip drawings (according to the electrical project configuration settings).

Update drawings: The report, design rule, and terminal strip drawings are updated before running the command.

Continue action without updating: The report, design rule, and terminal strip drawings are not updated and the command runs.

Cancel: The command stops and drawings are not updated.

The revision index is managed in three steps. The first is the index creation, in the second step the index is validated and then the index is verified.

When a revision index is managed on a book, you can propagate this index to all the drawings within this book.

New revision: Creates a new revision index. The last revision must first be validated before creating a new revision.

Validate: Inputs the Validated status to the last revision index. This records the date and user name with which the revision was validated.

Verify: Inputs the Verified status to the last revision index. This records the date and user name with which the revision was verified.

Remove validation: Removes the last statues to the last revision index.

Delete: Deletes the last revision index.

Properties: Opens the revision properties dialog box to edit data associated with the revision index.

Restore: Allows you to restore a snapshot attached to a revision index.

The Customize... button lets you access user data parameters specifically related to revision indexes.

After a new revision index creation, different dialog boxes open to let you print the book documents, to export the book documents to PDF file and to create a snapshot.
