Insert connector

Menu: Schematic > Insert connector

 

This command opens a dialog box to insert a connector. The dialog box contains two or three options.

 

Create a new connector: Opens the manufacturer part selection dialog box to search for a new manufacturer part.

Select existing connector: Opens the component selector. Select the component and click on the Select button.

Continue to insert connector previously added: This option is shown only if a connector isn't completely inserted. Select this option to finish insertion.

 

Dockable panel: Components > Insert connector

This command is available in the contextual menu of a connector mark. Since the connector is already selected, available options appear on the dockable panel.

 

Pins the command, ensuring that the command continues to remain active after it is first used.

Stops the command after it is first used to insert a symbol.

Ends the command.

Select configuration

In the list, several possibilities are available:

< Select symbol to insert>: The connector is represented by one symbol you can choose in the symbol selector.

Configuration files: The graphical representation is automatically done according to the selected configuration file.

The options of the dockable panel depend of this choice

Select symbol to insert

This appears only if you choose <Select symbol to insert> in the previous section.

The last symbol inserted is displayed in the side panel. Click Other symbol to select another symbol in the symbol selector. Click on a point in the graphical interface to insert it.

Options

This section is shown only if you choose a Dynamic connector with (or without) pin symbol configuration file.

Hide background: If this option is selected, the entities drawn under the connector are hidden by a wipeout.

Use rounded corners: If this option is selected, the left and right corners are replaced by a fillet.

Zig-zag management: If all circuits of the connector are not inserted, you can display a specific line indicating that the representation of the connector is not complete.

Select circuits to draw

 

Filters the list of circuits. When the filter is active, only non-inserted circuits are visible.

Moves the circuit selected up.

Moves the circuit selected down.

Displays the maximum number of circuits to insert. This number can be changed.

 

Columns in the list: (left to right)

1) Inserted pins (green) and non-inserted pins (blue).

2) Checkbox used to select the pins to be inserted.

3) Circuit description.

4) Pin number.

5) Pin mnemonic.

6) Pin utilization.

7) Pin group number.

Symbol orientation

Changes the orientation of the symbol by selecting the option or right-clicking.
