Edit symbol attributes

Allows you to add, delete, or edit the attributes associated with the symbol. This command accepts multi-selection.

 

Symbol contextual menu: Attributes > Edit attributes

Terminal contextual menu: Attributes > Edit attributes

Black box contextual menu: Attributes > Edit attributes

2D footprint contextual menu: Attributes > Edit attributes

Menu: Modify > Edit attribute

 

A dialog box opens showing the list of the existing attributes. All that start with the # are attributes managed by SOLIDWORKS Electrical, others are attributes managed by the user.

The dialog box also displays the settings of each attribute.

 

Number: Attribute index (cannot be changed).

Name: Attribute name. Only the user attribute names can be changed. The attributes #XXX are managed by the system.

Prompt: Attribute description, available only on the SOLIDWORKS Electrical attributes.

Value: The text (attribute value) displayed in the graphical area.

Position X: X Coordinate of the attribute position.

Position Y: Y Coordinate of the attribute position.

Height: Height of the text displayed in the graphical area.

Text style: Text style used to display the text in the graphical area.

Invisible: Allows to show/hide the text.

Color: Color of the text displayed in the graphical area.

Angle: Orientation of the text.

Justification: Select in the list the text justification you want to use in the text.

Oblique angle: Allows to create an italic text.

Width factor: Allows to compress the text width.

 

New custom attribute: Allows you to add a new user attribute. It is added to the list. Modify its settings.

New predefined attribute: Allows you to add a new attribute managed by the software. The Attribute management dialog box opens allowing you to select the attributes to add. The new selected attributes are added to the list. Modify their settings.

Delete: Delete the selected attribute. This attribute will be removed in the graphics area.

 

Symbols: Lists the symbols selected in the graphical area. If you select <All>, the modifications will be done on all selected symbols. If you want to modify only one symbol, select it in the list.

 

1.     Click OK to validate.

2.     The symbol is automatically updated with the attributes you added, deleted or changed.
