Insert symbol

Menu: Schematic > Insert symbol

 

When this command is used for the first time, the symbol selector dialog opens, letting you select the symbol you want to insert. This symbol is then saved, and it will be available for insertion when you use the command the next time.

 

The dockable panel displays available options.

 

Pins the command, ensuring that the command continues to remain active after first being used.

Stops the command after it is first used.

Ends the command.

Specify the symbol to insert

Shows the last symbol that was inserted. If no symbol was saved, the symbol selector opens automatically.

If you do not want to insert the presented symbol, click on the Other symbol button. The symbol selector opens, letting you choose another symbol.

Symbol orientation

This option lets you rotate the symbol prior to insertion. You can also select the angle of rotation by right-clicking with the mouse.

Options

Manual mark: If this option is selected, the Symbol dialog box opens and the mark is automatically displayed in manual mode.

Ask for properties: If this option is not selected, the Symbol dialog box does not open and the mark is automatically calculated and applied according to the electrical project settings.

Adjust size to drawing unit: Allows to manage dimension unit conflict. For example to insert an IEC symbol into a drawing with a title block with imperial units.

 

1.     Click a point on the drawing to insert the symbol.
