Defining BOM Settings

Before you insert Bills of Materials from them, you can customize BOM settings to specify how BOMs appear in your drawing.

1. Click Settings (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar) or Mechanical Toolbox > Settings.
2. On the right side of theSettings dialog box, select Tables.
3. On the left side of the dialog box, expand Bill of Materials.
4. Under Display:
   1. Use the Header orientation drop-down list to select whether BOM headings appear at the top or bottom of the table.
   2. Select the corner of the BOM that will act as the Anchor point.
   3. To modify the default layer, linecolor, linestyle, and lineweight for BOMs, beside Layer preferences, click Change.
   4. Click Display title to display a BOM title in the location you selected for Header orientation.
5. Under Text:
   1. Select the Text style for BOM headings.
   2. Type the Text size for BOM text.
   3. Use the Change case drop-down list to choose the case of BOM descriptions.
6. Click OK.
   If BOMs already appear in the drawing that use other settings, you are prompted to recreate those BOMs to apply the new settings.
