Toolbars

The eDrawings toolbars provide tools for performing basic operations and file display manipulation.

Heads-up View Toolbar

Select Lets you select the model in the graphics area.
Pan Lets you pan a part, assembly, or drawing file.
Rotate Lets you rotate part and assembly models, as well as drawing, detail, and section views of drawings.
Zoom Lets you zoom in and out.
Zoom to Area Lets you zoom a specific area of the model.
Zoom to Fit Fits the model in the graphics area.
View Settings Displays the model using perspective or ambient occlusion.
View Orientation Displays the model in standard or named views.

To access named views, you must save the model with named views in SOLIDWORKS.

Display Style Lets you select the display style for the model: wireframe, shaded with edges, or shaded mode.

Tools

Reset Returns the model or drawing to its state when opened. All rotations, pans, component moves, and orientation changes are undone.
Animate Plays the animation of the model.
Explode Lets you control the extent of explode.
Move Lets you move components in an assembly file or in a drawing file of an assembly.
Measure Measures exact dimensions in part, assembly, and drawing documents.
Section Lets you create cross-section planes.
Properties

Displays the custom and configuration-specific properties of SOLIDWORKS files in eDrawings.

Markup Lets you view the markups such as geometric elements, clouds, text, or dimensions.
Components Opens the Components pane to let you manage assembly file components.
The following options are available only for assemblies:
  • Explode
  • Move
  • Properties
  • Components

Selection of Configuration and Sheet

SOLIDWORKS PDM lets you select a configuration and sheet in the Preview tab.

In the Preview tab, on the eDrawings toolbar, you can select:
  • Configurations from the Configurations list for the .EPRT, .EASM, .SLDPRT, and .SLDASM files.
  • Sheets from the list for the .EDRW, .SLDDRW, .DXF, and .DWG files.
