The Bearing Load PropertyManager allows you to define bearing loads that develop between contacting cylindrical faces or circular shell edges. In most cases, the contacting faces have the same radius. Bearing forces generate a nonuniform pressure at the interface of contact. Depending on your selection, the program assumes a sinusoidal or parabolic distribution in the appropriate half-space.

Cylindrical Faces or Shell Circular Edges for Bearing Load |
Select the cylindrical faces to which you want to apply the bearing loads.
Select a Coordinate System |
Select a coordinate system to determine the direction of the bearing loads. The z-axis of this coordinate system must coincide with the axis of the selected face(s) which must be cylindrical.
Variation with Time
For nonlinear studies, you can define time-dependent bearing loads.
