Using the SOLIDWORKS
3DEXPERIENCE Smartlink add-in, you can
access
additional data from .SLDXML files that have been
output from SOLIDWORKS
3DEXPERIENCE applications.
To access .SLDXML data
with SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE Smartlink:

Turn on the SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE
Smartlink add-in:

Click .

In the dialog box, under Other Add-ins, select Active
Add-ins and Start
Up for SOLIDWORKS
3DEXPERIENCE Smartlink.

Click OK.

Click .
- Optional:
3DEXPERIENCE Users: If the Open from 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box appears, click
This PC.

In the dialog box, navigate to the location of the .SLDXML files and select a file.

For file type, select .SLDXML and click Options.

On the SLDXML screen,
select one or more options and click OK.
- Read sketch
data
- Read sketch objects in a
mechanism sketch as blocks
- Read assembly mates
data

To create single faces, for example for cylindrical entities,
click General and click Merge Entities.

Open
the file.
A message box shows the progress of the data being read
into the SOLIDWORKS file.
The design opens and the model
hierarchy appears in the FeatureManager design tree.
