Add file shortcut

The File shortcut feature allows you to create a link to a personal file stored outside SOLIDWORKS Electrical. A file shortcut is added to the electrical project and it is displayed as a drawing or a data file in the Pages tab.

 

Menu: Electrical project > New > Data file shortcuts

Contextual menu of book: New > Data file shortcuts

Contextual menu of folder: New > Data file shortcuts

 

A dialog box of file selection opens allowing you to select the file you want to link with the shortcut. This file can be open with the Windows application associated with this file.
