Creating a new title block

Create a new title block named Training based on the "A3 format - 10 columns - Titles in English" title block.

1. Open the Title block management

Menu: Library > Title block management

2. Select the title block TR_FDP_BASEA3CA_EN in the Title block management (ISO 216 - A3 - English)

3. Use the Copy and Paste commands to make a copy of the title block.

4. Select the new title block and click on the Properties icon to change its name.

Title block management: Properties

Editing the title block

Edit the newly created title block.

1. Select the Training title block and click on the Open icon.

Title block management: Open

Use a scale factor of 0.707 to change to A4 format.

2. To change the scale, use the Scale command in the Draw menu. The base point must be at coordinates (0,0).

Menu: Modify > Scale

Delete all the attributes in the title block apart from the revision table. This new title block should allow the propagation of the following data:

Customer name

Project contract number

Description - line 1 of the electrical project

Translatable data #4 of the electrical project

Book mark

Book description

Drawn by

Date

Description of the location of the drawing

3. To insert the attributes, the best way is to use the Insert attribute command of the Edit title block menu.

Menu: Edit title block > Insert attribute

You can also use the command Replace attribute in the contextual menu of an attribute.

4. Select in the list the attributes you want to insert.

5. The attribute inserted in the title block has a contextual menu, where you will find the Properties command allowing you to modify the style such as the font, the size, the justification, or the color. This is also available in the dockable panel (Properties tab).

Ensure that the description of the location is always in English, whatever language the electrical project may be in.

6. Do not change the language of an attribute that propagates items with translatable data. Simply replace the characters L1 with the language code, e.g. EN for English.

The location description data is associated with attribute #FOLIO_LOC_TZ_0_L1

To keep the data in English if the electrical project language is changed, just modify the attribute as follows: #FOLIO_LOC_TZ_0_EN

Modify the graphics of the columns to obtain 8 columns across the width of the title block. Place the attributes propagating the number of the column.

Title block properties

Update the title block properties so it is changed from A3 to A4 format.

1. In the Title block management, select the Training title block and click on the Properties icon.

Title block management: Properties

If you did not close the title block file, you can use the Properties tab of the Dockable panel.

2. Enter the properties as shown below.

Checking title block

Create a new electrical project that will use this title block. Enter the required information in the different levels of the electrical project and create a simple scheme using the cross references. Ensure that it complies with Appendix 12.
