Menu: Import/Export >
Export to Excel |
This feature allows you to export electrical project data to an Excel
file. When the command is launched, a wizard opens to help you select
the template you want to use.
When the command is launched, SOLIDWORKS Electrical
takes a snapshot (creation of a temporary file containing the exported
data) of the existing data in the electrical project (one snapshot file
per template file). This will be compared with the new data when you import
the modified data.
Step 1: Welcome to the Excel export wizard
1. The first
step of this wizard allows you to select the templates to use.

|
Add: Allows
you to add Excel templates to the list. A dialog box opens, displaying
all existing templates. Check the templates boxes you want to
add. |

|
Remove: Allows you
to remove the selected Excel templates. |

|
Select all: Allows
you to select all Excel templates on the list. |

|
Export saved point:
Opens the Export saved points
management dialog box allowing you to delete the existing
snapshots of a previous export. |
2. Check the
box to select the Excel templates you want to export and click the Next button to continue.
If an Excel template has already been exported (a snapshot has already
been created), a dialog will ask you to select the desired option.
Export another time: A new snapshot
file is created and the existing snapshot is saved. Each snapshot has
a unique ID used for the import comparison.
Delete existing exports: The
existing snapshot is deleted and replaced by the new one. If you want
to import the previous Excel file and the snapshot no longer exists, the
import could cause an error.
Step 2: Export data in an Excel file
Select destination folder: Click
the icon and select a directory where you want to save Excel files.
Open folder after exporting:
Check the box if you want to open the file explorer in the directory where
the files are saved.
3. Click the
Finish button to launch the export.
If the Excel file exists, a dialog box opens to select the option you
want.
Override it: The existing file
is deleted and replaced with the new file.
Rename it: The existing file
is saved and a dialog box opens allowing you to enter a new name for the
new file.
The files are now ready to be modified
within Excel.
