-ExtractBlockAttribute

The -ExtractBlockAttribute command lets you extract BlockAttribute values and saves them to text files of various formats.

Template files define the data to extract.

You can examine the extracted data using spreadsheet software or other applications.

It is the command window variant of the ExtractBlockAttribute command.

To extract BlockAttributes to a text file:

  1. Type -ExtractBlockAttribute at the command prompt.
  2. Specify the file format to use when writing the BlockAttributes information:
    • Cdf (Comma Delimited File): Commas separate the fields of each BlockAttribute record.
    • Sdf (Space Delimited File): Spaces separate the fields of each BlockAttribute record. Strings are enclosed by single quotation marks.
    • Entities: Lets you select the entities for extracting BlockAttribute data before you specify the file format. 
  3. If you selected Cdf or Sdf, specify the folder and name of the template file.

    If you selected Entities:

    1. In the graphics area, select Blocks with BlockAttributes and press Enter.
    2. Specify the extraction type: Cdf or Sdf.
    3. Specify the folder and name of the template file.
  4. Click OK.
