Using a Print Stamp when Issuing Printouts

The PrintStamp command lets you add information such as drawing name, Sheet name, date and time, or user-defined data in form of a print stamp when you issue the print or plot output.

You can write the printstamp information to a log file or to the printed output.

To define and use a print stamp:

  1. Type PrintStamp at the command prompt.
  2. Enter On to enable the output of the print stamp when you print, or Off to disable the printing the stamp.
  3. Enter the Fields option to determine the fields to be printed when the plot stamp is enabled.
  4. Specify whether to stamp
    1. the drawing name
    2. the layout name (Sheet name)
    3. your login name
    4. the plot device name
    5. the paper size
    6. the plot scale
  5. Enter the User fields option to determine two user-defined fields to apply to the stamp.
  6. Enter the Log File option to specify wheter to write the printstamp information to a log file or to print it.
  7. Enter the Location option to specify
    1. where to place the printstamp:
      • TL: Top left
      • TR: Top right
      • BL: Bottom left
      • BR: Bottom right
    2. the text orientation of the printstamp in relation to the printed page (Horizontal or Vertical)
    3. whether to create the stamp upside-down
    4. the offset of the stamp in relation to the specified position
    5. whether the offset is relative to the Paper border or Printable area
  8. Enter the Text properties option to determine
    1. the font used for the stamp
    2. the text height
    3. whether to place the stamp on a single line
  9. Enter the Units option to determine the units used for the offset: inches, millimeters, or pixels.
